Tesamorelin is the full 44-residue sequence of human growth hormone-releasing hormone with one modification: a trans-3-hexenoyl group carried on the N-terminal tyrosine. That acyl cap is the only structural departure from the native sequence, and it is what separates the material from GHRH(1-44) itself. At roughly 5,135.9 g/mol it is a large peptide by the standards of this section, several times the mass of the short synthetic amides listed beside it and half as heavy again as the 29-residue analogues.

The material presents as an off-white lyophilized cake in sealed glass, closed over a rubber plug with a crimped aluminium cap.
