What the material is
Oxytocin is a synthetic nonapeptide carrying a disulfide bond between the cysteine residues at positions one and six. That bond turns most of the chain into a ring with a short tail hanging off it, so although there are nine residues in sequence the molecule is not a linear peptide in any practical sense.
